Magnetic Elastomers from Arelec Solution
Magnetic elastomers are flexible or semi-rigid materials made from ferrite or neodymium and a polymer binder. Highly flexible and easy to cut, they offer a wide range of applications, from POP and signage to sensor targets.
Our range of
Magnetic elastomers.
Magnetic elastomers are flexible composite materials consisting of an elastomer matrix (such as rubber or silicone) in which magnetic particles, generally ferrite or neodymium-based, are embedded. Thanks to this combination, they possess both the mechanical properties of elastomers (flexibility, elasticity) and the magnetic properties of magnets.
Magnetic rubber.
Magnetic rubber is an indispensable tool used in many fields. Thanks to its magnetic properties, this elastomer can be infinitely repositioned and reused. Available in several formats, magnetic rubber is easy to cut. discover our full range on our shop.
Decoflex & PET.
Decoflex is a white PVC film, printable on solvent, eco-solvent and UV printers. PET film is compatible with solvent, eco-solvent, HP latex and UV printers. These materials are indispensable for indoor and outdoor advertising campaigns.
Flexmetal & Flexam.
Flexam is a magnetic elastomer, sometimes with adhesive backing, that can be applied to metal surfaces. Flexmetal is a flexible ferrous elastomer that is not magnetic itself but attracts magnets and can be fixed to non-metallic surfaces as a ferrous base.
Placor & Placam.
These are elastomers bonded to metal brackets, giving them increased contact strength. Recommended for the following applications: ski racks, driving school/taxi sign holders…
Magnetic labels.
With a simple magnetic attraction, these labels can be repositioned at will and without leaving a trace, unlike adhesive labels. Different models are available for different uses.
Magnetic clamps.
This product consists of two magnetic strips joined by a white PVC or fiberglass strip. The model with the adhesive side is stuck to a smooth wall surface, enabling documents to be held on any surface.
Innovation and precision : the manufacture of
magnetic elastomers.
These steps allow the production of magnetic elastomers suitable for a variety of industrial applications.
Composition
Magnetic elastomers are mainly composed of strontium ferrite powders, sometimes barium or neodymium, mixed with synthetic rubber or PVC. This composition gives them magnetic properties and great flexibility.
Extrusion or calendering
Extrusion – The mixture is heated and forced through a die to obtain specific shapes. This process produces continuous profiles with uniform cross-sections.
Calendering – The mixture is passed between heated rollers to create thin, uniform sheets. This process allows precise control of material thickness and texture.
Orientation
In some cases, the orientation of magnetic particles can be induced mechanically or by an external magnetic field. This creates anisotropy, optimizing the product’s magnetic properties.
Magnetization
The product is magnetized in a second operation. This step is crucial to ensure that the elastomers have the magnetic properties necessary for their specific applications.
